U.S. agriculture is losing its market share and competitive advantage with Colombia, Panama and Korea. That is why AFBF needs your messages — to achieve passage of all three trade agreements and improve market access for U.S. farmers and ranchers for real economic benefits to your community. The FTAs are stalled in Washington and your message can make sure we pass the three FTAs.
Passage of the Colombia, Panama and Korea FTAs means nearly $2.5 Billion in additional exports, economic development and jobs.
- U.S. cannot afford to lose its competitive advantage.
- Gains will only be realized by passing the FTAs.
- Level the playing field.
- Not just about the bottom line - also about jobs and the supply chain.

Revised Farm Bill to Face Gauntlet of Amendments in Senate This Week
May 21, 2013 - CQ News
The Senate bill proposes cutting SNAP spending by $4 billion over the next 10 years. The Congressional Budget Office estimates it will provide $18 billion in deficit reduction over the next decade. Other crops are covered by target prices under the Adverse Market Payment program, but the targets are set at levels unlikely to trigger payments with currently high market prices.
